STILL Remodeling

Hello world!

We are still remodeling. And we are still having fun! Along with the remodeling, after the six weeks of the Freedom cafe we made the crazy decision to continue on for six more weeks. So if you would like to stop in and check out our Belmont Room, you certainly may on any Friday from 7-11am at our Freedom Cafe!

But that little plug isn’t what this post was about. This is about the remodeling since it’s been a little while since I updated you. The ceiling is coming along wonderfully. We have added at least a foot in height with removing the drop ceiling, we also discovered some extra height in the ceiling about the bar. And now we have moved on to the floors. Alchemy concrete has been there all week.

We also have let in a lot more light with exposing the glass blocks in the front of the building. That to me is one of the most exciting highlights!

There is still a lot to do. Once the floor is done, the ceiling will be finished along with painting. We have had a set back in the ceiling since there is a leak in the roof. Hopefully that won’t hold things up too much longer since Spring should be just around the corner.

Here are some photos.

Before paint, and new drywall in the front, also still had clutter…

this is from the front door. They chiseled away at the rest of the concrete. It’s currently a dirt floor.

Concrete is a delicate process, a lot has to happen before it’s too dry to work with. Judah was there well after dark buffing away. AMAZING!

This is super cool, but after this he made it even a little smoother and then applied some saw cuts. They complement the glass blocks really well. I can’t wait to see it with the stain and finish.

Of course there is still clutter and chaos, but everyday there is getting to be less and less.
